Announcements
  • BECI Essay Contest
    Beauregard Electric will sponsor an all-expense paid trip to Washington DC for four winners of an essay writing contest who are sophomores, juniors, or seniors. Please see Mrs. Peters for more information.  
  • FCA
    FCA will meet Thursday, December 14th at 7:30 am in the library. 
  • Band and Choir Concert
    LHS Band and Choir concert will held in the auditorium December 11th at 6:30 pm. Admission is free! 
  • Track Meeting
    There will be a boys and girls track meeting in 12/12/2017 immediately after school from 3:30-4:30. Please dress appropriately for the weather and have transportation at the school for 4:30. If you have any questions please see Coach Clemons in Room 130 between classes or at lunch  in the main hallway.
  • Juniors with Ring Orders
    This is a reminder to make payments on their rings online. You can use a credit or debit card.

    For those students who have paid their ring in full, we will have a ring ceremony on December 13th at 11:49 a.m. We will meet together, present rings, have a snack and some time for the students to show off their rings to one another. Your parents are invited.

    For those students who have not paid for their ring in full, we will call them up after the ring ceremony and they will pay for their rings and go back to class. 

  • Food Drive
    The food drive will run from Monday December 4th to Tuesday December 12th. We are asking for canned food ONLY and please not make sure food is not past their expiration date. The first hour with the most canned food items will  earn a class breakfast  and can wear jeans on Wednesday  December 13th. Additionally, we will have a school jean day on Tuesday, December 12th. Students can bring 2 canned food items or $2 for jeans. 
  • Toys for Tots
    JROTC is sponsoring a Toys for Tots donation drive.  Please only donate new, packaged, and undamaged toys.  The highest donating class will receive a free dress day.  However, the class must have donated at least 50 toys.  If a total donation of 250 toys is accumulated, the entire school will receive a free dress day.  The deadline for donations is December 13th.
  • Senior Salute Pages
    Attention Seniors!  The LHS Yearbook Staff has reserved pages in the 2017-2018 yearbook for senior salute pages.  The pages are $150.00 each and must be paid for by March 1, 2018.  There are a limited number of pages, so reserve yours today!  See Mrs. Peters in Room 131, to reserve your page and receive instructions for picture and text submission.

  • Vernon Parish Dress Code
    Please refer to pages 9-10 of the Vernon Parish School Board Handbook for the Vernon Parish Student Dress Code guidelines. 
Counselor's Corner
  • To schedule a Parent/Teacher Conference contact the counseling office at 337-239-3971
  • The ACT will be given on Saturday, December 9th.  Students who are registered should report to the lobby by the auditorium by 7:40 a.m.  Students should bring their admission ticket, ID, #2 pencils, and calculator.  Students will not be allowed to test without their admission ticket and ID.  Calculators should be brought home on Friday.  You will not be allowed to go to your lockers.  Please see Mrs. Cryer if you have any questions. 

Congratulations
  • LHS Student and Teacher of the Year
    Congratulations to our 2018 Student of the Year, Casey Williams!  She will go on to represent LHS at the parish level in January. 

    Congratulations to our 2018 Teacher of the Year, Ms. Karen Hatten  She will go on to represent LHS at the parish level.  

Seniors
Senior Awards Day is May 8th at 8:30 a.m.
Graduation is May 17th at 7:00 p.m.

LHS is offering tutoring in Math & English, Monday-Thursday 3:20 PM-4:20 PM.
